Can I try the course out first to see if it suits me?
The Pet Portrait Starter Kit is a comprehensive 3-part course, together with the 3 bonuses and extras. Being a digital product, and given everyone experiences different results, I am unable to offer a trial period.
HOWEVER if you’re looking to ‘dip your toes in the water’ and get comfortable with the basics before deciding to take the next step, I’ve created the Pet Portrait Mini Kit.
This mini course takes all the essential beginner lessons you need to get started quickly and build your confidence with colour pencils - for a fraction of the cost of the full course!
And yes, you can upgrade to the full course if and when you’re ready!

Is the course ‘live’ or can I access the tutorials in my own time?
This is a 100% self-paced course and you can access the material whenever you’re ready, with lifetime access.
Will I need to buy any pencils for the course?
It depends on what you already have in your collection.
If you’ve got a decent selection of good quality pencils, no matter the brand, you’ll be able to continue using those for this course - just bear in mind the results may differ.
If you’re starting your collection from scratch, then my Core Pencils & Materials list is a great guide to the pencils and tools that will help build your skills in drawing pets and animals.
One purchase I would recommend is buying drafting film as I use that surface in most of my drawings (and it’s so lovely to draw on!).
Grafix Duralar is a great film to start on, it’s well-priced and easy to find in most countries.
But if you prefer other artist papers, then the principles I teach can just as easily be applied to those.
Will the course cover pastel pencils?
No, the course focuses exclustively on coloured pencils.
What methods of payment do you accept?
The course platform accepts most major credit/debit cards and Paypal for payment.
